Job

{17:6} ``But he has made me a byword of the people. They spit in my face.
{17:7} My eye also is dim by reason of sorrow. All my members are as a
shadow. {17:8} Upright men shall be astonished at this. The innocent shall
stir up himself against the godless. {17:9} Yet shall the righteous hold on
his way. He who has clean hands shall grow stronger and stronger. {17:10} But
as for you all, come on now again; I shall not find a wise man among you.
{17:11} My days are past, my plans are broken off, as are the thoughts of my
heart. {17:12} They change the night into day, saying 'The light is near' in
the presence of darkness. {17:13} If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have
spread my couch in the darkness, {17:14} If I have said to corruption, 'You
are my father;' to the worm, 'My mother,' and 'my sister;' {17:15} where then
is my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it? {17:16} Shall it go down with
me to the gates of Sheol, or descend together into the dust?''

{19:23} ``Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! {19:24} That with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock
forever! {19:25} But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he
will stand upon the earth. {19:26} After my skin is destroyed, then in my
flesh shall I see God, {19:27} Whom I, even I, shall see on my side. My eyes
shall see, and not as a stranger.

{13:1} Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. {13:2} Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. {13:3} For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same, {13:4} for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn't bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil. {13:5} Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience' sake. {13:6} For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God's service, attending continually on this very thing. {13:7} Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. {13:8} Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

{26} Those who heard it said, "Then who can be saved?"

{27} But he said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

{28} Peter said, "Look, we have left everything, and followed you."

{29} He said to them, "Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brot
hers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of God's sake, {30} who will not receive many times mor
e in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life."
